Welcome

Welcome to The Academy of Central Bedfordshire website and thank you for visiting us.

As a Headteacher I am privileged to lead such a wonderful organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of the young people in our care. I hope our website provides you with valuable insight into our school and the opportunities we offer to our students. Our determination, shared with each member of the staff team at The Academy, is to make the greatest positive difference to our students, not just academically but in every way that will help them be successful in all aspects of their futures.

Horizon Education provides a virtual tutoring service to young people via our Google Classroom system with live lessons taught by a teacher. Additionally, students who are enrolled in this provision will receive an in-person weekly face-to-face well-being session. The provision is targeted to support those students who are unable to attend their main registered school regularly. For some of these students the virtual provision will provide sole subject teaching, for other students their education package will include the provision of alternative provision managed and quality assured by the Academy.

ACB Students Conquer the Isle of Wight on Residential Trip
2/09/2024 1:26 PM

A group of 10 adventurous ACB students recently enjoyed an unforgettable two-night residential trip to Little Canada on the Isle of Wight. From June 24th to 26th, they participated in a variety of thrilling outdoor activities, including climbing, giant swinging, kayaking, axe throwing, and ziplining.

On Monday evening, the students cooled off with a refreshing swim in the local sea and enjoyed some friendly games on the beach. The following day, they ventured to Sandown Pier, where they explored the arcades and local shops before cheering on England in the Euro 2024 match.

The trip was a resounding success, providing students with the opportunity to develop both individual skills and teamwork abilities. As they worked together to complete challenges, they gained valuable experiences that will benefit them in all areas of life.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and it was time for the students to return home. We eagerly anticipate next year's adventure!
